November 15th - 19th

 When children are exposed to art and able to use different mediums the following happens:

Creativity is promoted

 Neural connections are engaged.

Fine motor skills are being built and strengthened.

Scribbling is a precursor to writing.

Problem solving skills are developed.

Kids begin to understand themselves and their world.

This week we used feathers to paint.  Each project was authentic and allowed the children to be creative.

Peer Learning with Pre-K

This week Nursery 3 and Pre-K had the opportunity to collaborate during our Montessori work time. Students learn a great deal by explaining their ideas to others and by participating in activities in which hey can learn from their peers. 

• November 23rd will be a day 0. Kindergarten students should all be in regular uniform. There will be a NOON Dismissal and no HCA Plus.

• There will be no school from November 24-28 for Thanksgiving break. Classes resume on Monday, November 29th.

• Save the date for the Family Christmas Liturgy on Sunday, December 12 at 1:30 pm.

• PREK AND K ONLY -  On Thursday, December 16th, Pre-K, Kindergarten, 3rd and 4th Grades will present the Christmas Show Gala for the parents only at 10:00 AM.

• Looking ahead - The last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, December 17. It is a half day with dismissal at 12:00 noon and no HCA Plus. Christmas break runs from December 18 through January 3. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Autumn Movement-Move like leaves!

Sway in the breeze.

Spin in the wind.

Float down to the ground.

We are so fortunate to be in a community where we have time carved out of  our schedule to be a whole.  On Wednesday, we got together as an entire student body and met our "families". The 7th/8th grade family leader led a "getting to know you" activity.   Then the  students worked together to create family pennants which can be seen around the school.

• Help us support needy families in our community by contributing to the Thanksgiving food drive. More information can be found in Happenings and the sign up link is here.
