We had a school wide celebration of Black History Month this week. 

We had a dance party in the gym where we danced to songs sung by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and The Jackson Five.

To celebrate this, we played a great game of Red, Light, Green light in the MPR.

We ended our time together with another dance party!

On Wednesday, we shared random acts of kindness.  Nursery 3 picked second grade to do something special with. 

 We shared a snack and our favorite book, A Big Mooncake for Little Star by Grace Lin.

To continue with our theme of kindness, we had "Make a New Friend" day with Pre-K.  Children chose a friend to have snack with and work with whom they would not normally have the opportunity to choose.

Scientists In Training

After explaining what a hypothesis is, we started with one question.  What will happen to the hearts if we put them in different liquids? 

We used water, vinegar, vegetable oil, hydrogen peroxide
and hand sanitizer.

After three days, vinegar completely dissolved the candy hearts.


Community Time- Valentine Celebration

During Community Time this week we participated in various Valentine themed games and activities with our HCA families.  We had a great time!
