On Friday, we checked in on Braden's cousin, Astronaut Nick.  We got to watch him do a spacewalk live!  It was so cool:-)

The students got to preview Shrek The Musical on Thursday.  If you are looking for some family fun this weekend tickets can still be purchased at the door.

-Collect change all week in homeroom
-Bake Sale (Mon-Wed) items $.50 - $1.00

Monday: Dress Down - Actors, Athletes and Authors Day

• Dress as your favorite actor, sports person, or book character
• Parade in gym (first thing)
• Candy Jar Guess

Tuesday: Music and Masterpiece

• Music at lunch
• Dance party  at 2:30 

Wednesday: Dress Down - Superhero/Disney Day

• Dress as your favorite super hero /Disney character
• Scavenger hunt

Thursday: Accessory Day (no dress down, prayer service)

• Hats, belts, socks, hair bows

Friday: Flaunt Your Dragon Pride

• Wear your HCA attire!

Trying to Catch Some Leprechauns!

Our trap is set. 

TWO leprechauns visited us but we were not fast enough to catch them!!  Their names are Lucky O'Reilly & Colin Mcdoogle.  They made a HUGE mess and left us some gold.  

Braden's cousin, Astronaut Nick Hague, is part of the Soyuz MS- 10 Crew who blasted off on Thursday.  The Keenan family was kind enough to share NASA information with us so that we could watch the blast off!

The Nursery and Pre K classes will be hosting a prayer service on Holy Thursday, April 18th at 8:15 am. All are welcomed (and encouraged) to attend.

School will be closed March 25th - March 29th.

Mrs. Clay recently sent an email to all HCA Early Childhood families about two music events that she will be holding at HCA.

Music Together family classes will begin on April 3rd and end June 5th.  The class will meet on Wednesdays, 3:30-4:15.

Music Together Family event will be held April 16th from 3:30 - 4:15.  All are welcome to this free event.

March 4th - March 8th

We began the Lenten season by attending third grade's Ash Wednesday prayer service.  Prior to receiving our ashes, we discussed what the ashes meant.  From our class discussion, we decided it let people know we were "friends of God."

Centers In Gym Class

Mrs. Mosser sets up centers in PE so that nursery students can engage in well thought out, developmentally appropriate, large and small motor activities. 

The Nursery class has been talking about Leprechauns and St. Patrick's Day.  When you feel a tickle on your ankle, it is a leprechaun saying hello!  We hope to "catch" one next week so we made a trap to do so.

A special visit from the 8th grade!

This week our friends in 8th grade asked if they could come in and read to us.  We were so excited for the visit and to spend time with them!  The 8th graders came with books that they checked out of the library just for us.  We paired up and shared books.

Jack and the Beanstalk

We read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk with Mrs. Zwilling.  When we were finished, we used blocks and shaving cream to build our own stalks!  This is a loved activity and those of you that were with me last year may remember.
